Update...

photographer:  Manuel Dominguez Jr.
Hi all,

Just an update and  what I have been thinking...

Hooray, I finally got an image up on my web site's home page and started working on my still life and textiles photos (there will be more up soon)!  I have to say, that getting back on the photoshop train is almost like learning how to ride a bike.  I have been very rusty these past years, but thanks a million to my friend, Kaitlin (she's beyond awesome), it is all slowly coming back to me!  I just better keep practicing!  So please, check out my work in progress here -----> piapanaligan.com.

AND, new update on the job front... I recently got to work on a still life shoot for Anthropologie and started freelancing, fashion shoots, for Free People's web site!  I am very excited to have been invited to join the FP team, as a freelance stylist, for I am such a big fan of their clothing and adore their  modern, bohemian lifestyle!  So please stay tuned, as I will soon be posting some work I have done for them.  And check out their new August catalog that will drop next Tuesday, which was shot in Venice (sneak peak on their blog)!

Finally,  I have been thinking about what my blog is lacking!  Inspiration posts!!! From the latest fashion shows, exhibits, inspirational work by other stylists or designers and so much more. Adding some play with my work posts!

On that note, thank you for taking the time to stop by!  Until next time...

Hi friends,

Long time no post, and very sorry for the slack!  I have been really antsy to share some pictures from when I went up to Maine, and assisted Jeannine for the Anthropologie October catalog.  Work has definitely caught up to me and I have been busy, but I am so happy to have the time to post about... 'Vacationland" (or Workationland, as I would call it in this case, hehe).

We shot at four different locations, around Portland, Brunswick and Freeport area.  Some by the glittery and chilly, blue water along the shore line, taken over by sailboats, lighthouses and neon buoys.  Also, homes with interiors keeping the feeling of old New England bay, to a festive, South American influenced, jet setter's home and even taking a voyage through the studio of a modern day artist.

The scene was so breathtaking and I couldn't be more happy to have had the pleasure to work with the crew I was with!  But, most importantly, there were a lot of lessons I learned with on location shoots; and the top things I will always keep in mind: be prepared, be super organized, learn your surroundings (how to set up shop), prepare to battle nature, always be ten steps ahead and packing up diligently and neatly is a must!  Oh, and have fun too!

Thanks for your time and hope to have you back...

Just got the confirmation on my first job!  I will be assisting Jeannine and we will be shooting at Freeport, Maine!  Always wanted to go to Maine!  I will make sure to post my own pictures as soon as the photos for this job comes out, so stay tuned until then, please!  And not to be a super nerd, I cannot wait to see the infamous bean boot (Manny that one is for you).

Bon Voyage!!

Ms. Jeannine Lynch-Nerney, thank you!  This post is a dedication, to all the words of wisdom and styling tips you have shared with me!  You are that boost which led me to where I am today, and will be forever thankful.  I am more than happy to be working by your side and to learn more!  Here we go.... XO

Update!

vimeo image capture

Hello friends, for those of you who celebrated 4th of July, I hope this past weekend treated you kindly.  I squeezed in a little bit of work, but definitely made good use of the hot summer weather (hehe by the pool)!

Before I delve into work talk, I want to give a special thank you to Jeff Stark and Manny Dominguez, for being so very helpful with not only helping me solve my web site problems, but also in giving me a hand with uploading images!  Super talented and rad dudes!

Now, for my update on what's been going on... besides starting work on the site, I joined vimeo (so watch out for more projects via vimeo to come),  have been catching up on emails regarding (hopefully- cross your fingers) work, started purchasing a few tools and necessities for my stylist kit (pics to come), and slowly packing up my desk area at the web studio (*tear).
Three more days at the web studio, and I never thought I'd say this, but I want it to go by slowly.  I am starting to miss my studio family and I haven't even left yet!

As they say, one door closes and another opens!

Going out with a BANG!

thanks for the photos Andy Brennan

Okay, super dork alert post... But, I must admit, one of the things I will miss about working for urban is the sample sale (*snort *snort)!!! And fortunately, I got to celebrate my last one with these wild, crazy ( and I mean that with much love) and fabulous co-workers of mine, whom I consider my second family! Great memories!!!

On that note... everyone please enjoy this lovely, and hopefully long, weekend!  HAPPY 4TH!!!!
